It's Beginning to Taste a Lot Like Christmas

Merry Christmas!!
Casi and I spent the day preparing Christmas gifts for a couple of our dearest friends. We were joined by our resident Taste Tester, Nick, our guest taste tester Kyle and our three pups Jake, Max and Hugo. Our gifts are completely edible and entirely delicious. We have confirmation that these morsels are not only easy on the eyes, but they are also rich in flavor.

Here are our creations and our notes:

Front and Center: Snowman Poop. None were able to decide upon the favorite treat, but this was a close first for all of us. How can you go wrong with cream cheese blended  with white Oreos dipped and rolled in almond bark and coconut...

Haystacks. A simple yet rich treat, no tempering required. These sweet and salty treats are made with buterscotch, chocolate and chow mein dry noodles. Can't wait to try the peanut butter and cashew varieties.

Ooey and Gooey: Carmel Nut Crunch. These are so simple and are quickly becoming Anna's staple treat for parties and food days at work. The sweetness of the carmel chocolate candy sandwiched by the saltiness of the preztel and pecan stops the circular snacking of salty, then sweet.

Old Faithful: Chocolate Chip M&M Cookies Enough said.

Fresh Cranberries: White Chocolate Cranberry CookiesThis is Mama Millham's famous and much loved recipe. Anna was a little nervous to recreate this recipe, and even though they turned out more like scones, they are still delightful. The tartness of the fresh cranberries is refreshing after a Haystack.

After baking for a couple hours of baking, we were ready to package our gifts!

If others are able to enjoy these treats half as much as we enjoyed making them, then we will consider these successful gifts. Merry Christmas!!!
